This recently renovated cable car system starts near the bottom of Montjuïc, the most well-known and historically significant hill in the city. As such it is awash with parks, monuments and sites of interest to visitors, including the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, and the most important stadia from the 1992 Olympic Games. The cable car doesn’t just save your energy for exploring the first rate sites in this area, but is also a scenic and highly memorable experience in its own right – make sure you keep a camera handy!

Each gondola holds eight people and offers sweeping panoramas on the ascent towards the summit of Montjuïc. On a clear day you’ll be able to see for miles over the whole city and the Collserola Mountains that surround it. Once you get off it’s just a short walk to the top of Montjuïc with is magnificently preserved 18th-century castle. As you might expect this is a very popular attraction, even if it is best avoided by those with a fear of heights. Why not take this opportunity to book with Ticketbar and ensure that you get the chance to see Barcelona laid out beneath you.
